SOP for Dismissing and Muting Chats in the Resident App
Objective
This SOP outlines the steps for residents to dismiss and mute chat channels in the app, ensuring they can manage their chat experience effectively.
Key Steps
1. Accessing Chat Channels 0:13
Open the app and navigate to the chat rooms section at the bottom of the screen.
If any un-read messages are there, a counter in the red bubble will indicate how many.
From an App user's perspective, they can identify the difference between Groups Chats and Broadcasts Channels, as the latter is marked with an orange badge.
2. Dismissing a Chat 0:44
To dismiss a chat, swipe left on the chat you wish to remove from your list.
Tap the 'Dismiss' option that appears.
3. Viewing Dismissed Chats 1:01
After dismissing a chat, check the top of the chat list for the 'Dismissed Chats' indicator.
Note the number of chats dismissed (e.g., 'Dismissed Chats 1').

Decide whether to automatically restore dismissed chats when a new message arrives:

Swipe left on a dismissed chat/broadcast channel and then tap restore!
6. Understanding Broadcasts and Emergency Broadcasts 2:21
Recognise that broadcasts and emergency broadcasts are Staff driven and therefore cannot be muted, only dismissed.
If a broadcast is dismissed, it will still notify App users of new messages.
Note, it is possible to set up a mute-able Broadcast Channel. While this is note encouraged you can elect to do this when you make a new Channel. Don't hesitate to ask Support for help with this.
You cannot set up a mute-able Emergency Broadcast Channel.
7. Receiving Messages in Dismissed Chats 3:14
If a new message is sent to a dismissed chat is a Broadcast or Emergency broadcast, it will still appear in your notifications, ensuring App Users do not miss important information.
Understand that if you dismiss and mute a group chat, you will not receive messages from that group.
You will however, not actually delete anything. It is simply hidden and or muted.

Cautionary Notes
Be aware that dismissing a broadcast chat does not prevent notifications from being sent to you.
Ensure you check your dismissed chats regularly to stay updated on important messages.
Tips for App Users
Regularly review your dismissed chats to avoid missing important updates.
Use the mute function for group chats that are not important to your daily activities and you would't mind if you were not kept in the loop.
