SOP: How to Check In on Your App Users Notifications

Objective

To guide team members on how to perform a four-tiered test to check if app users are able to receive notifications successfully.

Key Steps

  1. Once your client o App user is logged in, navigate to the profile page.

  2. Select the settings tab

  3. Scroll down and select the Verify Notifications" button.

  4. Click on the "Start" button to initiate the test.

  5. The test will check

    1. Internet connection,

    2. Notification permissions,

    3. Syncing notification settings, and

    4. Send a test notification to the device.

  6. Confirm if the test notification is received in real-time.

  7. Verify if the user passes all four tests successfully.

And if not, the App will give you guidance on which of the tests it could not pass and will provide some guidance!

Cautionary Notes

  • Ensure the user is logged in before initiating the test.

  • Double-check the internet connection

    Follow the steps in sequence to accurately assess notification functionality.

  • Encourage users to self-serve the test to troubleshoot!
